Queen Size Air Mattress

by Airbed Guy on April 7, 2011

A queen air mattress is usually a little more than 5 feet wide and is designed to sleep 2 comfortably or 3 in a pinch. So whether you’re cuddling up with your honey for a few nights away or you just like to spread out a queen bed is a great size for most circumstances.

One of the great things about queen size air mattresses is that you will find a broad range of options so let’s go through a few of those.

Queen Size Air MattressIf you intend on using your queen size air mattress indoors only then setup time and weight will be much less of a concern. In these circumstances I’d suggest going with a double height bed with a memory foam top or a flocked top. Getting an airbed that is higher off the floor generally provides a better night’s sleep and adding the memory foam or a flocked top well, let’s just say it’s a heck of a lot better than sleeping on an air mattress with only a sheet separating you from the PVC body of the bed.

For indoor use I’m recommending the Smart Air Beds Raised Comfort coil Beam Flocked Top Queen Size Inflatable Mattress. This item has around 50 reviews as of this writing and is still maintaining right around 4 stars. That’s solid, especially considering that most of the low rankings I’m seeing are given due to the wrong size being shipping which has nothing to do with the airbed!! What’s wrong with people?

Queen Size AirbedOK, on to the second scenario. You need a camping air mattress. While I’ve covered this in some detail in my camping air mattress series of articles I’ll touch on it here as well.

The best queen size air mattress that on the market right now for camping is the Aerobed Guest Choice Inflatable Bed. Aerobed still maintains one of the best reputations in the airbed market. This is because their products generally are more durable, use higher quality products and are easier to use. Not always but at least in this case it’s true. This bed uses heavy-gauge, non-allergenic PVC vinyl that is puncture-resistant. It inflates in around 60 seconds and has a release valve that will get you up and out of camp in around 15 seconds… Wow! This bed can also hold up to 750 pounds so you don’t have to worry about scoffing down a few extra smorez before bed!

Queen Air MattressI’ll throw this last one in here just because I think it’s so cool. It’s the Smart Air Beds 5×1 Inflatable Queen sized sofa/Bed. This bed comes with it’s own AC pump and carry bag. Also, similar to what Coleman is doing now this bed is using dual locking valves which should eliminate leaks at the vale. It can be used as a sofa (for 2 adults) a bed, booster bed, lounger and recliner. It really redefines versatile and looks good to. You can have a look at it over at Amazon. It’s getting great reviews which really surprises me but then again Smart Air does have a good reputation. So if this fits your circumstance don’t be afraid to take a chance… and don’t forget to let me know what you think.
